sports equal…an inclination to give.

A 15-year-old shares his enthusiasm for sports

Brady Gilroy’s first word was “ball.” At 18 months, he was hitting a ball off a tee. For his 15th birthday, he requested a donation to Every Kid Sports, to make sure other kids have the opportunity to experience the same awesomeness he gets from playing sports.

That awesomeness was what Brady felt during the first game of the 2020 season.“I hit the farthest home run I have ever hit, and we went on to win the game and tournament.  t felt awesome!” Brady’s favorite sport is baseball, but he is also involved in basketball, track, flag football and also played soccer until just recently. It’s challenging to be involved in so many sports, but his baseball coach supports his decision to be a multi-sport athlete, and so Brady has learned to juggle it all.

The biggest benefits he has gained from sports is friendships and confidence.“I enjoy being with my friends and making new friends. And, I especially like the confidence I feel when I have a good game and perform well.” His mom, Michelle, has also seen how sports boosts Brady’s confidence.“I see him on the field and wonder, ‘who is that kid?’ The amount of confidence he has on the field is incredible, and I also think the discipline he has gained is also really beneficial. He has to keep up his grades in order to play and has been able to do so despite playing so many sports.”

“It felt awesome!”

This year is Brady’s freshman year in high school, and he understands that not all kids are fortunate to have had the privilege of playing sports.“I feel bad thinking that other kids aren’t able to have the same experiences as I did, so we looked up organizations and found Every Kid Sports.”

Thank you, Brady, for sharing your enthusiasm and love for sports with other kids, and for supporting Every Kid Sports!
