A Touchdown of Generosity: Every Kid Sports and the Denver Broncos Score Big for Sophia
In the spirit of the holiday season, Every Kid Sports and the Denver Broncos teamed up to create a lasting memory for Sophia, an Every Kid Sports grant recipient, and her family. Thanks to the generosity of the Denver Broncos Foundation’s Ticket Turnover Program, Sophia and 10 members of her family were treated to two exhilarating Broncos games over the festive season. This heartwarming gesture not only brought joy to Sophia but also showcased the power of community initiatives that go beyond the playing field.
When the Denver Broncos Community Impact team let us know that they had some extra tickets via their Ticket Turnover Program, which provides opportunities for deserving individuals to experience the thrill of live NFL games, we jumped at the opportunity. Lisa Mauvais, Sponsor Success Manager at Every Kid Sports, started looking for grant recipients in the Denver area who may be interested in going to a Broncos game. She quickly identified 11 year-old Sophia, who actively participates in the Russell Wilson flag football league. Sophia and her family were thrilled with the opportunity to go to a Broncos game and quickly confirmed that they’d love to go.
On Christmas Eve, Sophia and her family found themselves in the midst of the spirited crowd at Empower Field at Mile High, witnessing the Broncos take on the Patriots. The atmosphere was electric, and the seats, courtesy of the Denver Broncos Community Foundation’s Ticket Turnover Program, offered an unparalleled view of the gridiron action. The joy on Sophia’s face was palpable, making it a truly special holiday for her and her family.
As the New Year approached, the generosity continued, with Sophia and her family attending the Broncos vs. Chargers game on New Year’s Eve. Once again, they were treated to fantastic seats, allowing them to savor every touchdown, tackle, and triumphant moment on the field.

A heartfelt email from Sophia’s mom, Miriam, expressed their gratitude and the profound impact of this experience on Sophia. “Merry Christmas and thank you so much. Sophia is super excited, not only for the Broncos game but to get back on the field for flag football,” wrote Miriam.
