Decline Explanations

Why did my Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC card get declined?

Medicaid, SNAP, and WIC cards are not the best proof of current enrollment as they do no provide enough information for us to approve your child’s current status in the program.Your qualifying document must provide the following information to receive approval:

  1. The child’s name
  2. the program they are enrolled in (Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC)
  3. Dates within 12 months of the current date

Pro Tip: Log into your Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC account and take a screenshot or picture that includes all three bullets above.

Medicaid, SNAP, and WIC do not send out a new card every year but my child is enrolled

Unfortunately, because you typically receive a card only one time from Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC we will need another form of proof of enrollment.Check for you:

  • Enrollment
  • Re-enrollment document
  • Log into your online account/app and take a screenshot or picture of your child’s enrollment

Ensure the document you submit provides the child’s name, the program (Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC), and dates within 12 months from the current date.

Why did my document get declined?

The document that is submitted to qualify your child must show the child is currently enrolled in the program with dates within 12 months from the current date. This decline reason means, there are not dates that show current enrollment as of the last 12 months, or at all. Please reapply if you are able to submit a document, letter, screenshot, or image showing your child is currently enrolled in Medicaid, SNAP or WIC.

Why does my child's name need to appear if I am the head of the household?

When submitting your qualifying document in the application, the document has to show the child you are applying for is a beneficiary of the Medicaid, SNAP, or WIC program.

I made an error in my application, can I fix it?

Unfortunately, once your application has been submitted you can not make any changes.

Please submit another application that corrects the error.

When we approve your application, if there is more than one application we will review both applications at the same time to ensure the best outcome for your grant request.

Can an advocate, counselor, teacher, team, coach, etc. apply for a child?

No.

At this time the parent/guardian will need to apply for their child to receive funds. Leagues, schools, advocates, counselors, etc… will not be permitted to apply for a child.

Can I pre-apply for an up coming season?

No.

Applications requesting funds beyond three months in advance will be declined to allow current season applications to be reviewed.

What if I cannot use the grant as originally intended on my application?

Please contact Every Kid Sports by email. Please provide the child’s name and DOB in the email message.
