Annie: Donor Spotlight

How annie is helping kids experience the joy that shaped her life.

They were about learning how to show up for something bigger than yourself. How to work toward a common goal. How to win with humility and lose with grace.

Those lessons didn’t stay on the field, they followed her into every stage of life. And now, she’s making sure more kids get that same chance.

Why This Matters to Annie

“Team sports played such an important role in my formative years,” Annie shared.
“I love that this community helps reduce access barriers for kids all over the country.”

For her, the value of sports goes far beyond competition. It’s about:

  • Learning discipline
  • Being part of a team
  • Building friendships outside of school
  • Gaining confidence and a sense of pride

“These are skills that translate through life and future careers,” she said.

And they don’t just happen automatically. Kids need a place to play.

“But every season we would have a rec softball league as a fun outlet, and those are some of my fondest memories of that time in my life.”

Even years later, long after childhood leagues have ended, the impact of sports is still present in Annie’s life.

During medical school, a time defined by intense academic pressure and long hours, she found something familiar waiting for her: a team.

“Medical school was, of course, academically rigorous… it could be isolating,” she said.
“But every season we would have a rec softball league as a fun outlet, and those are some of my fondest memories of that time in my life.”

Even in one of the most demanding environments, play created space for joy, friendships, and balance. That’s what sports do. They stay with you.

The Role Annie Chose to Play

Annie knows not every child has the same access she did. So she decided to do something about it.

By supporting Every Kid Sports, she’s helping remove the cost barrier that keeps kids from playing. She’s helping make sure more kids can experience the life-changing benefits of playing and get the same sense of belonging that shaped her.

If you believe kids deserve the same opportunities that shaped your life, you can be part of this, too.

Help give a kid access to play.
