Every Kid Sports to Partner with Sixers Youth Foundation to Empower Local Youth

Sixers Youth Foundation commits $70,000 grant to provide access to youth
sports for income-restricted children throughout Camden, NJ, Philadelphia, PA

BEND, OR (January 11, 2023) – Every Kid Sports, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is pleased to announce a partnership with the Sixers Youth Foundation (SYF) that increases access to youth sports. The philanthropic arm of the Philadelphia 76ers has committed a two-year, $70,000 grant to help subsidize youth sports registration fees for children throughout underserved communities in Camden, NJ, and Philadelphia, PA. The Every Kid Sports Pass is available for recreational leagues, as well as pay-to-play after school sports programs in middle and high schools, including the upcoming Spring Sports season.

“This partnership will provide nearly 400 kids within the Sixers’ fan footprint the opportunity to participate in youth sports and experience the positive benefits associated with playing,” said Natalie Hummel, Founder and Executive Director of Every Kid Sports. “We are thrilled for this opportunity and salute the Sixers Youth Foundation’s commitment to its community.”

“The costs associated with youth sports programs may pose a barrier to some families and Every Kid Sports has created a pathway to eliminating one of those barriers,” Leslie Walker, Executive Director of Sixers Youth Foundation shared. “We are excited to be investing in an organization that is committed to increasing access to youth sports.”

SYF’s grant will support Every Kid Sports’ $4 million fundraising goal to bolster youth sports culture in the Philadelphia region. Research shows that in addition to the myriad physical, mental and emotional benefits youth sports provides, participation helps reduce youth violence, drug and alcohol abuse and teen pregnancy.

The Every Kid Sports Pass provides funding to cover registration fees for recreational youth sports that are at least four (4) weeks in duration. Children ages 4-18 are eligible to receive up to three grants a year. Pass applications must show proof of a child’s enrollment in Medicaid, SNAP or WIC.
