The Every Kid Sports Pass.

The Every Kid Sports Pass is a financial grant of up to $150 to cover the cost of youth sports registration fees for qualifying families. Families can apply for an Every Kid Sports Pass up to four times per year, per child.

Kids currently enrolled in either SNAP, MEDICAID Insurance Programs, and/or WIC, qualify.

What are the application process qualifications?
  1. Kids residing in the Pacific Northwest (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming) or Arizona.
  2. Kids ages 4-18 years old
  3. Recreational after-school sports program
  4. Recreational sports program must be at least 6 weeks long
  5. Registration fees only. Uniforms, travel, tournament, late fees, ASB Cards, etc will not be approved. 
  6. Recreational sports program cannot exceed $500 for 3 months participation
  7. Athlete/child must currently be enrolled and a beneficiary of  at least one of the approved Financial Need Verification programs.
    1. Free and Reduced Lunch verification letter
      • CEP Schools and/or schools that offer free lunch to all students do not qualify; please provide one of the other programs listed below.
    2. Athlete/child is the beneficiary of SNAP
    3. Athlete/child is the beneficiary of WIC
    4. Foster child paperwork for the athlete/child requesting funds
    5. Proof the athlete/child is within the household that holds a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) for Migrant Education Programs

*the financial need verification document you submit must prove the athlete/child is currently enrolled in one of the programs listed above, with dates. 

All applications submitted without qualified documentation will be automatically declined. 
What is the maximum grant amount?

$150.* 

Families are required to pay at least $10 of the registration fee or the balance if the fee is greater than $160.
*Leagues/Programs that exceed $500 for a minimum of three months of participation do not qualify.

How often can I apply for a grant?

Once per season, per child.

A season, is considered a three month time period. You are eligible to reapply every 3 months per child. 

Can I pre-apply for an up coming season?

Applications requesting funds beyond three months in advance will be declined to allow current season applications to be reviewed.

Can an advocate, counselor, teacher, etc. apply for a child?

Yes, our application is set up that a third party can apply for the child.

  • The applicant must provide their relationship to the child they are applying for in the application.
  • A parent/guardian email is required and must be different from the person applying, if you are not the legal parent/guardian of the athlete
    • Applications from a third party without a parent/guardian email will be declined
    • Applications from a third party with the same email as submitted for the parent/guardian will be declined

 

Can I apply for reimbursement?

No.

Applications will not be considered for previously paid fees, reimbursements, or for outstanding registration fees from previous seasons or sports. 

Does each child need an application in the same family?

Yes.

Every child who you are requesting funds for will need their own application and proof of Financial Needs Verification document/s.

How quickly will I receive the grant?
  • Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received.
  • Upon approval, the funds will be sent to the youth sports organization within 5 business days.
EKS requires families pay a minimum of $10 toward registration fees

What if I no I longer have proof of Free/ Reduced Lunch form or other

Contact your school or school district to receive a copy of your letter.

Do CEP Schools qualify?

No.

Athlete’s who attend a CEP School or a school that provides free lunch to all students will need to provide another form of financial need verification.*

If a Free Lunch document is submitted and we learn the school is providing free lunch to all students, the application will be declined.

Our season has been cancelled

Can I transfer my funds to a different league?

If you no longer want to play in the sport, league, or cancel your application please contact Every Kid Sports immediately.

Please note, if your season has already started and/or we cannot receive a refund from the YSO/School you will need to wait until you are eligible to reapply for the next season. 

Approved Sport Season Length

An approved sport season is a minimum of six weeks (6).

Any sport season less than six (6) weeks does not qualify for the Every Kid Sports Grant. 

Do Sports Camp Qualify?

No.

The Every Kid Sports Pass will not be awarded for Camp-like programs, after-school daycare programs, or short-term programs.

Programs less than six (6) weeks are considered camps and will not be approved. 

Do Club Teams Qualify?

No.

The Every Kid Sports Pass will not be granted to cover Club, Elite, or Performance Training.

Does my Travel Team Qualify?

No.

The Every Kid Sports Pass will not be granted for Travel Teams, Travel Expenses, Tournament, or Competition Fees. 

Who is the check written out to?

Checks will be written out to the youth sports organization or the school that the child will be participating with; indicated in your application.

Checks will not be made out to an individual, parent/guardian, and/or used for previously paid fees.

Where is the check mailed to?

Checks will be mailed directly to the youth sports organization, please notify your YSO/School that we will be sending them your check, or forward your award email to your YSO/School.

What organizations can I use the grant at?

Youth sports organizations or schools should accept the grant. Every Kid Sports provides your Youth Sports Organization two options for payment; a check or ACH payment.

What if my league registration is done online?

The host organization says they haven't heard from Every Kid Sports

More than likely the email entered in the application for the YSO/school was entered incorrectly or the contact information has changed. Please send an email to Every Kid Sports or connect Every Kid Sports with the main contact person at the YSO or school.

Why did I receive less than I requested?

We try to award as many families as possible. In doing so you may be awarded less than you requested. Our goal is to continually provide The Pass and keep kids playing sports. To do so, we need your help! Please check with your YSO/School to ensure you know your cost of registration only.

Additionally, we check submitted applications with YSO and schools to ensure the requested amount on your application is the correct amount due. Including reduced pricing for Free/Reduced Lunch, low-income, previously paid fees, etc. We also do not pay fees related to uniforms, travel, ASB cards, etc.

We will deduct any added fees from your request or decline your application entirely. Repeat offenders will not be approved for future Every Kid Sports Passes.

Am I guaranteed a grant if I apply?

Every Kid Sports Passes are granted on a first-come-first-serve basis for all qualified youth.

You must be able to show proof that the athlete, not the parent, guardian, or sibling, is currently enrolled and receiving benefits from one of the qualified programs to be approved.

If you are unable to show proof that the athlete is receiving the benefits your application will not be approved. 

What if my check is lost?

If we have place a stop payment on your check and resend, the amount to stop payment will come out of the amount awarded. 

What if I cannot use the grant as originally intended on my application?
